• Coming up on the 25th anniversary of 9-11, we are starting to hear more about Do Not Forget.    It’s getting more important as no one under 30 has any memory of that day.   We should remember those that were in the towers and planes, the first responders, and all of us who experienced the terrible day.  We need to work together as Americans to be aware and ready.  We need to invest in a strong military, that have divisions that take new technologies to the next level.   We need the smartest commanders, not just the ones that look best in a uniform or have the highest testosterone.

We cannot forget who our friends are and help keep the US safe- where information must come worldwide and combined strength wards off those wanting to do us harm.  We should not forget on 9-11 Canada welcomed over 225 planes as we closed our airspace.  Including Gander Newfoundland that welcomed 38 planes and over 7000 people. Our Canadian friends stepped up to feed and welcome in their stranded guests.  The Royal Canadian Air Force stepped in immediately to help us get through the days and weeks ahead.   The bi-national NORAD is the eyes and ears of North America defense, then and now the most important partnership for the US.    NATO, for the first time declared Article 5 in which all members pledged to step up and help the US in whatever was needed.   At the time no one knew what had happened and what was next.   From October to May NATO AWAC radar surveillance aircraft, and 800 NATO personnel patrolled US skies.    80,000 Canadians gathered at Parliament Hill for a National Day of Mourning, to show support for their US neighbors.

9-11 was orchestrated by Saudi’s. And now we are going to make Saudi Arabia nuclear, because it’s a smart business move?   And we vilify Canada and our NATO allies.  Do Not Forget

  • We are in Florida, life is good.  We are relaxed!   Had the usual airport problems.  A sunny nice day and our plane in Milwaukee arrived an hour late from Atlanta.  But we managed to still make our connection.   And we arrived in warm Florida on time. We went out with neighbors last night,  I had…

Happy Cinco de Mayo.   I am going to go down and pour myself a glass of tequila to celebrate the victory over the French. We had a chance to spend a little time with Enders, which was nice.  They are now on duty in Door County.  And it sounds like they brought the bad weather…

  • April 2010

Well I did not take pictures of the snow today, it was too depressing.  I was stopped on Hwy 41 waiting for an accident to clear, and more cars in the ditches.  Today was opening day of the Timberrattler’s baseball season,  which is postponed until tomorrow.  They say 6 inches in Appleton.  But the spring…
