• Coming up on the 25th anniversary of 9-11, we are starting to hear more about Do Not Forget.    It’s getting more important as no one under 30 has any memory of that day.   We should remember those that were in the towers and planes, the first responders, and all of us who experienced the terrible day.  We need to work together as Americans to be aware and ready.  We need to invest in a strong military, that have divisions that take new technologies to the next level.   We need the smartest commanders, not just the ones that look best in a uniform or have the highest testosterone.

We cannot forget who our friends are and help keep the US safe- where information must come worldwide and combined strength wards off those wanting to do us harm.  We should not forget on 9-11 Canada welcomed over 225 planes as we closed our airspace.  Including Gander Newfoundland that welcomed 38 planes and over 7000 people. Our Canadian friends stepped up to feed and welcome in their stranded guests.  The Royal Canadian Air Force stepped in immediately to help us get through the days and weeks ahead.   The bi-national NORAD is the eyes and ears of North America defense, then and now the most important partnership for the US.    NATO, for the first time declared Article 5 in which all members pledged to step up and help the US in whatever was needed.   At the time no one knew what had happened and what was next.   From October to May NATO AWAC radar surveillance aircraft, and 800 NATO personnel patrolled US skies.    80,000 Canadians gathered at Parliament Hill for a National Day of Mourning, to show support for their US neighbors.

9-11 was orchestrated by Saudi’s. And now we are going to make Saudi Arabia nuclear, because it’s a smart business move?   And we vilify Canada and our NATO allies.  Do Not Forget

  • Pushing 3 months since my last update, things have gotten away from me!  I am pretty sure this getting older thing makes it easy to lose track of time. August was time back from Door County, unpacking, winding down.   We had plenty of things going on to keep us busy.  We had rented a new…

  • June and July were fun and we are doing well.  There was some very hot weather but July has finished very comfortably.  Some very rainy days and the corn fields seemed full grown by the start of July.  The corn loved the hot wet weather.  We have been out to a local Winery in Ripon…

  • Another month flying by. Florida is getting into the warm rainy season.   We keep finding ways to keep busy.  We had new tile installed on the lanai this month and are very happy with it.  So that should be the last of our tile projects.   And I redid the guest closet, cleaning painting and redoing…

  • Isn’t life interesting?  Nothing in our life has affected so many people at the same time. You would think that would get us past the politics, but obviously that is not true.  The good news is that it seems like a lot of the country is starting to show positive signs of the virus declining. …

  • Wow, am I behind schedule!    This retirement is just too busy.    Life has been great for us.   We are surrounded by great friends that we share time with.   I have been getting some golf in, not enough to improve my game, most weeks is just one time out; and 2x a week helps my swing…

  • We want to wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year.    A new decade is beginning, for many of us we grew up thinking of 2020 as something in the far off future, so far off as to be some space futuristic movie.   But we have made it this far, and we…

  • Another month has gone by quickly!  Chris and I were busy settling back into Florida.   With our drivers licenses and voters registration settled in we worked on unpacking and reorganizing.  I had decided last year that after 15 years it was time to get a new refrigerator.   Our neighbor last year had to wait a…
