• Coming up on the 25th anniversary of 9-11, we are starting to hear more about Do Not Forget.    It’s getting more important as no one under 30 has any memory of that day.   We should remember those that were in the towers and planes, the first responders, and all of us who experienced the terrible day.  We need to work together as Americans to be aware and ready.  We need to invest in a strong military, that have divisions that take new technologies to the next level.   We need the smartest commanders, not just the ones that look best in a uniform or have the highest testosterone.

We cannot forget who our friends are and help keep the US safe- where information must come worldwide and combined strength wards off those wanting to do us harm.  We should not forget on 9-11 Canada welcomed over 225 planes as we closed our airspace.  Including Gander Newfoundland that welcomed 38 planes and over 7000 people. Our Canadian friends stepped up to feed and welcome in their stranded guests.  The Royal Canadian Air Force stepped in immediately to help us get through the days and weeks ahead.   The bi-national NORAD is the eyes and ears of North America defense, then and now the most important partnership for the US.    NATO, for the first time declared Article 5 in which all members pledged to step up and help the US in whatever was needed.   At the time no one knew what had happened and what was next.   From October to May NATO AWAC radar surveillance aircraft, and 800 NATO personnel patrolled US skies.    80,000 Canadians gathered at Parliament Hill for a National Day of Mourning, to show support for their US neighbors.

9-11 was orchestrated by Saudi’s. And now we are going to make Saudi Arabia nuclear, because it’s a smart business move?   And we vilify Canada and our NATO allies.  Do Not Forget

  • Ok,  this White Christmas stuff is going to extremes.    Last night I spent extra time out just trying to decide where to move the snow to!  The road and driveway are already getting narrower, and I can’t get it higher with the plow.  And my snowblower gear box went out when I was trying to…

  • Another nice day in South Florida.  Partly sunny, but in the 70’s already.   Very little humidity.   It has not been bright sun any day but has still been a nice break from Wisconsin.   I hate the thought of arriving home in below zero weather tomorrow night.  But it looks like there is some warmer weather…

  • We had a prowler in the back yard.   Earlier in the week this fellow showed up along the fence line between the trailers.   He was there the day the guys came to abandon our well, and they did not want to get out of their truck!   Our neighbor Judy could see them from her house…

  • The cooler weather has definitely settled into Wisconsin.  Although we had a great weekend last week.  Sunny and very warm.  Noel and Jo Ann came up and helped me pull out the pontoon boat and both docks.  And we winterized the trailers and did a few projects.  A productive beautiful weekend,  other than the asian…

  • We are spending 12 days at High Cliff State Park south of Appleton.  On the ‘other’side of Lake Winnebago.   We have done this a few years with Noel and Jo Ann and enjoy it very much.   It is a short drive for me to come to work, so I am sleeping in these days.   And…

  • I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. It sure was a beautiful summer weekend. Maybe Fall will hold off for awhile. I won’t put too much weight on to that thought! We had MJ and John join us for the weekend along with Noel and Jo Ann. Other good friends spent some time…

  • A pretty good week has gone by.  We are still here and still healthy so I guess that alone qualifies as a pretty good week!  It seems we manage to keep busy each day.   Of course work gets in the way of that also.  We had a picnic here Wednesday night for my homebrew club. …
