• Coming up on the 25th anniversary of 9-11, we are starting to hear more about Do Not Forget.    It’s getting more important as no one under 30 has any memory of that day.   We should remember those that were in the towers and planes, the first responders, and all of us who experienced the terrible day.  We need to work together as Americans to be aware and ready.  We need to invest in a strong military, that have divisions that take new technologies to the next level.   We need the smartest commanders, not just the ones that look best in a uniform or have the highest testosterone.

We cannot forget who our friends are and help keep the US safe- where information must come worldwide and combined strength wards off those wanting to do us harm.  We should not forget on 9-11 Canada welcomed over 225 planes as we closed our airspace.  Including Gander Newfoundland that welcomed 38 planes and over 7000 people. Our Canadian friends stepped up to feed and welcome in their stranded guests.  The Royal Canadian Air Force stepped in immediately to help us get through the days and weeks ahead.   The bi-national NORAD is the eyes and ears of North America defense, then and now the most important partnership for the US.    NATO, for the first time declared Article 5 in which all members pledged to step up and help the US in whatever was needed.   At the time no one knew what had happened and what was next.   From October to May NATO AWAC radar surveillance aircraft, and 800 NATO personnel patrolled US skies.    80,000 Canadians gathered at Parliament Hill for a National Day of Mourning, to show support for their US neighbors.

9-11 was orchestrated by Saudi’s. And now we are going to make Saudi Arabia nuclear, because it’s a smart business move?   And we vilify Canada and our NATO allies.  Do Not Forget

OK, I am way behind in updates!   But I keep thinking about it.  I last updated before we made our annual trek to Door County.  It was a great time as always.   Chris only gets to stay 2 weeks now, as the state changed the rules about staying in the park from 21 days to…

  • We made it to June and it almost feels like summer.  That’s quite a stretch since some of the area had frost a few days ago.   But our garden is mostly in as of today.  Yesterday was too wet from Friday nights rain storms but today was better and I did not want to wait…

  • It turned out to be a pretty good day.   Lot’s of wind but the sun was out most of the day and felt warm.  A chance to get a little work done in the garden, although I tried to roto till and the garden soil is still wet and hard, so I did not make…

  • I am in Florida, closing up the condo for the summer.  About 90 degrees here, but a nice breeze and partly cloudy.   The afternoons a thunderstorm seems to develop and blow through.   And then it gets nice for the evening.  Last night I grilled out down by the pool late, did a couple of burgers…
